Here are some tips to help you send out fan mail:
1. I would recommend sending your own item because it dramatically increases your chance of receiving a reply.
2. Always include a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope).
3. If the person you are writing to is outside the country you live, include IRC's (international reply coupons).
* If you send a card, include 1 coupon.
* If you are sending a photo, include four coupons.
*If you have postage for the foreign country you are writing to, that would work the best.
4. Be patient. Don't write to the celebrity over and over again every week at the same address if you do not receive a reply from them. They get enough mail as it is, so just relax. It can take well over a year to receive a reply.
5. Type your letter or nicely write it. It should never be over one page long!!!
6. If you get your item signed, it is always nice to send a thank you note to show your appreciation.
I hope these tips will help you become more successful with collecting autographs through the mail.
